This is an exciting opportunity to purchase an original piece of world-class art after watching it be created.
About the event:
Twenty-seven of the best-known artists and sculptors from around the country will be participating in this exciting annual event. Festivities will begin with a Western-Style art opening at the Lucky Penny Ranch, 5801 Bluebell Lane in Evergreen, on Friday evening, June 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Each artist will have three works displayed.
On Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m., there will be a Quick-Draw at the ranch, when 27 artists face the challenge of creating a new piece in just 90 minutes. Everyone is invited to watch the artists create a fresh new piece and perhaps pick out a piece to bid on later at the auction. This event is immediately followed by a Champagne Brunch and Live Auction of the new work where you can bid on that special piece. The Brunch and Live Auction require a ticket.
Just thirty minutes west of Denver, Colorado, the Lucky Penny Ranch is located in one of the state’s most beautiful areas, with mountain vistas and abundant wildlife.
The title sponsor for the art show and auction is The McWilliams Group at RE/MAX Alliance. The Gold sponsor is Evergreen Fine Art, Barb Hadley and Phil Shanley. Silver Sponsors are Adobe Creek Framing, Colorado Serenity and Trove. Proceeds from the event will benefit Bootstraps Scholarships and Loans. “Weekend in the West is a premier art event that raised over $8,300 last year to assist Evergreen and Conifer families in alleviating some of the financial burden of continuing education for their children,” explains Colleen Skates, Executive Director of Bootstraps Scholarships and Loans.
The event will showcase paintings, sculptures and more from over 27 top Western artists. The artist lineup includes: Edward Aldrich, Nicolo Balkanski, Sophy Brown, Renee Buller, Cheri Lynn Capello, Jimmy Devine, Pem Dunn, Maeve Eichelberger, Kelli Folsom, Terry Gardner, Stephanie Hartshorn, Carol Jenkins, Karryl, Gary Kim, Stephen LeBlanc, Terri Lombardi, Leon Loughridge, Rodgers Naylor, Dan Oakleaf, Karen Roehl, Dave Santillanes, Jill Soukup, Pati Stajcar, Janice Sugg, Susiehyer, Michael Untiedt, Jie Wei Zhou.
“It’s a fun day of mingling with the artists and hearing their stories, while giving them exposure and raising money for a cause that can forever change someone’s life,” explains June McKenzie, realtor. “We also encourage people to stop by our office before the event and pick up a copy of the Explore Evergreen guide or map. It offers a list of year-long events, things to see and do, and information on local shops and venues. It’s a great way to explore Evergreen even more after the event or when returning for another must see visit.”
