Due to the ongoing social distancing recommendations by CDC and CDPHE, ICFPD is providing the candidates with an opportunity to present themselves to you, the voters of the district via the district website. We have now received Candidate Statements from all seven candidates and are posting the statements here. The voters of ICFPD will elect two candidates to three-year terms and one candidate to a two-year term. The candidates in alphabetical order are:

The election is May 5, 2020 and voting will take place at ICFPD Station Three, 8445 South Highway 285. You may vote in person at Station Three between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Mail in ballots may be requested from the Designated Election Official (DEO) beginning April 3, 2020 and must be returned to the DEO no later than May 5, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District (ICFPD) provides structural fire protection, wildfire suppression and Emergency Medical Services to approximately 8000 residents across 52 square miles of Jefferson County, Colorado. ICFPD has five stations and responds to 450 emergency calls each year with volunteer firefighters, EMTs and paramedics supported by 4 paid staff members.

Personal perspective serves as motivation for Inter-Canyon election candidates
On May 5, residents of the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District will cast a vote for three candidates on the district board. There are five candidates for two open three-year positions and two candidates for one available two-year position.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Inter-Canyon is urging residents to apply for absentee voter ballots, which can be requested up until end-of-day April 28 from Designated Election Official Crystal Schott. All absentee ballots must be returned to Inter-Canyon Station 3, 8445 S. Highway 285 in Morrison, by 7 p.m. May 5. Those wishing to vote in person can do so at Station 3 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 5.
The Courier is profiling those running for offices on special district boards across the mountain area. Election previews for Evergreen Fire/Rescue, Indian Hills Fire Rescue, Evergreen Park & Recreation District and Indian Hills Water District will be in the paper every Wednesday in April. Elections for Elk Creek Fire Protection District and Evergreen and West Jefferson metropolitan districts have been canceled due to a lack of candidates.
