"Platte Canyon Fire is preparing to conduct controlled pile burns throughout our district as part of an effort to reduce hazardous fuels. The main project area is located north of Rosalie Rd in Bailey, near the Bailey Disc Golf Course. It is normal to see or smell smoke in areas beyond the project burn site.
The piles consist of mixed tree slash that was cut and piled during a thinning project. Platte Canyon proactively performs fire mitigation, creating defensible space and reducing hazardous fuels to better prepare our community in the event of a wildfire.

We follow very strict guidelines and limitations that monitor fuel conditions, fire danger and air quality to ensure project objectives are safely and effectively completed."
