Seniors’ Resource Center Announces Closure of Evergreen Facility
SRC Continues to Support Evergreen Seniors with In-Home Services
EVERGREEN, CO – April 1, 2021 – Seniors’ Resource Center announced today it is permanently closing its Evergreen, Colorado Day Center so that the organization can refocus its resources on its popular in-home services, including in-home care, respite and chore services.
“Even before the closure of our Evergreen facility due to the pandemic in March 2020, attendance at our Evergreen location had dropped to low levels,” explained Chris Lynn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seniors’ Resource Center. “At the same time, we’ve experienced an increase in demand in Evergreen and surrounding mountain rural areas for our home-based services. Closing the center, called ‘the Yellow House’ by many Evergreen locals, allows us to redirect our staff and financial resources to the delivery of these sought-after home-based services.”
Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC) is the Denver area’s largest nonprofit dedicated to services for older adults in order for them to continue to age in the place they call home. SRC’s programs include adult day programs, in-home care, chore support, care management and senior advocacy.
Since 1978, Seniors’ Resource Center has been providing services to older adults. Started under the Jefferson County Department of Social Services as a small department that handled inquiries about senior services and volunteer opportunities, SRC soon became its own agency dedicated to assisting older adults. Today SRC provides services, resources and advocacy to over 24,500 people a year throughout the greater Denver metro area.
To support the continued growth of in-home services in the Evergreen and Conifer areas, SRC is currently hiring and looking to immediately fill 7 care provider positions to deliver our in-home services. For more information about SRC’s openings, applicants are encouraged to visit www.srcaging.org/jobs or email This email address is being protected from spambots. “The pandemic has taught us all how much can be accomplished in a home setting,” Lynn said. “While it is always bittersweet to close a facility, we are excited about continuing to serve and grow with the Evergreen community.”
