Our thanks to everyone who attended the Community Wildfire Protection Plan presentation last night with us, Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District, and The Ember Alliance. You asked great questions and we look forward to finishing the CWPP and sharing it with you all in greater detail. You'll find some information on our websites already under the Wildland > Planning tab and if you have any questions, please contact us!

It's a long video but chock full of great info. This is just a start, the final CWPP will hopefully be available sometime in January and it's meant to be a living document that will get updated as time goes on while being a resource for homeowners and larger entities alike to utilize for planning and mitigation actions. With the CWPP in hand, and in conjunction with Homeowners Assessments that you all request, HOAs and neighborhoods can start prioritizing what needs to be done first, create Firewise Communities, and/or apply for grants (like the Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation [FRWRM] grant from CSFS that ECFPD and ICFPD won a few months ago for $267,000+), and more.

There are interactive maps that allow you to drill down further into the preliminary data already posted on Elk Creek Fire's and Inter-Canyon Fire's WIldland websites. Check them out!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
