PARK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Severe weather in Park County toppled a truck over which was carrying cats and dogs on Wednesday. Colorado Pet Pantry was taking the animals to the Larimer County Humane Society and Soul Dog Rescue in Fort Lupton.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office helped house the animals until conditions improve.

SourceWe have a happy update to report regarding our transport vehicle that blew over in South Park. One of the Sheriff's deputies that came to the aid of the driver and animals has adopted "Winkie," one of the dogs she helped bring to safety. (Winkie was examined by a vet and suffered no injuries in the accident-her eye had previously been removed.) What a fabulous happily ever after for adorable Winkie! Clearly a connection was made that fateful day. The other animals are all physically fine and are quickly recovering from what must've been a traumatic experience! Most are available for adoption. Check them out at imhs.org and fill out an application. Congrats to Winkie on your new home!
