Park County, Colo. – The Park County Broadband Advisory Board and Park County government is launching a community-wide survey to gather feedback regarding availability of and interest in high-speed Internet.
“The results will inform a request to the Board of County Commissioners for approval to seek funding from various state and federal funding opportunities,” said John Carr, Park County Broadband Advisory Board Chair. “Which means faster, more reliable internet service will be available to residents and businesses in Bailey,” added Carr.
The Bailey Broadband surveys will be collected at least through April 30, 2022 and results will be publicly reported. Residents without internet access can take the survey at one of the local library branch computer stations.
“Our world is becoming ever more digital, and the COVID-19 pandemic has shined a spotlight on the growing digital divide. It is critical for students, businesses, and communities to have access to high quality, affordable internet. Providing broadband to rural communities is a challenge due to the lack of fiber infrastructure and low population densities. This survey will give us the hard data needed to apply for grants and prioritize expansion,” said Tom Eisenman, Park County Manager.
