Whether you walk, run, stroll, or cheer from the sidelines, the Freedom Run is a great way to kick off your Fourth of July.

The scenic 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) course follows gently rolling terrain through residential areas, beginning at 8 am Evergreen Middle School and ending with a festive finish line at Nick’s Pro Fitness.

All proceeds go to Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice which provides home health care, palliative care, hospice, bereavement assistance, Camp Comfort for children who have lost a loved one, as well as emotional and spiritual needs assistance across our mountain community.

Kick off the Fourth of July with Mount Evans' Freedom Run 5K in Evergreen

Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice will hold its 40th annual Freedom Run on Monday, July 4 starting at 8 am at Evergreen Middle School. A local tradition, the Freedom Run is a great way to kick off your Fourth of July no matter if you walk, run, stroll, or cheer from the sidelines. And the event doesn’t end at the finish line—after the race, participants and their families and friends are invited to enjoy refreshments, music, games, and fun at Nick’s Pro Fitness.

The scenic 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) course follows gently rolling terrain through residential areas. The registration fee is $40 for adults and $20 for youth under 18 (add $5 starting June 29).

Participants can register online at FreedomRunRace.org through Tuesday, June 28 at 5 pm or in person at the Mount Evans office, 3081 Bergen Peak Drive, Evergreen through Friday, July 1 at noon. Mount Evans is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The office will be open for t-shirt, bib, and timing chip pickup (as well as registration) on Wednesday, July 29 from 4 pm to 6 pm, Thursday, June 30 from 12 pm to 6 pm, and Friday, July 1 from 9 am to 12 pm. Onsite registration on race day at Evergreen Middle School opens at 6:45 am and closes at 7:45 am.

Monday is the Freedom Run-lots of great goodies for the first 500 to sign up! FreedomRunRace.org or in person this week here at the Mt. Evans office 3081 Bergen Peak Drive. Thank you to everyone in our community that came out for the Freedom Run 5K and after party yesterday. What a great way to kick-off the Fourth of July! A big thank you to all the runners for taking part and raising money for Mount Evans. And a huge thank you to all our volunteers that made the event happen. You are all amazing!
