COFA Monthly Off-Road Ride, Saturday, June 18, 2022, be at meeting location at 8:00 AM

Join us Saturday, June 18th for our Monthly Off-Road Ride at Mt. Pisgah/Yankee Hill.

To register go to the following link: cofausa.org/civicrm/event/register/?id=67&reset=1

Jeeps, UTVs (Side by Side), ATVs, and dirt bikes are welcome. CB radios will be used to keep the communication between the leading vehicle and the last vehicle. We will have stops along the route to regroup and have a good time.

Mt. Pisgah

Difficulty Level: (Moderate for Jeeps) – (Easy/Moderate for ATV/UTV)

Lying up the hill west of the former mining towns (now gambling centers) of Black Hawk and Central City, Pisgah off-road trail (Forest Service Road 739.1) provides an important and convenient entrance into the extensive network of 4x4 trails around Yankee Hill. Pisgah is also popular because of its proximity to the Columbine Campground and is often referred to as the Columbine Cutoff.

Yankee Rhonda Hill
Difficulty Level: (Moderate for Jeeps) – (Easy/Moderate for ATV/UTV)

Situated in the Arapaho National Forest and close to Denver, Colorado, the Yankee Hill 4X4 network is filled with many four-wheel-drive trails, but Yankee Hill itself is the crown jewel, and hence, the area's name.

This is an excellent off-road trail for either beginners or those just looking to escape the city while being in the heart of mining country with high-altitude views.

While many refer to the area as Yankee Hill, this is the actual route that gives you the thrill of a moderate hill climb along with views of James Peak, Mt. Bancroft, as well as Mount Evans.

If you're bringing your own Off-Road vehicle, make sure that it's in good working condition. Check the fluids and/or have your mechanic look your vehicle over. COFA strongly recommends that you have insurance on your own vehicle. You never know what may happen and it's best to be protected.

Recommended to bring:

· Full tank of gas

· Updated 2022 to 2023 OHV sticker for (ATV and UTV only)

· If you have GMRS radio, please bring (optional but helpful)

· Lunch and water

· Sunscreen, lip balm, mosquito repellant

· Toilette paper and hand sanitizer

· Warm clothing in layers and shoes with good grip

· Waterproof jacket or rain poncho just in case of surprise showers
