At a special meeting of the Platte Canyon School District board of education on Aug. 25, the board addressed recent allegations of inappropriate relationships between sheriff's deputies and students by issuing a press release.
After an executive session that lasted for over an hour, the board readjourned. Bea Everest, vice president, announced that the board was issuing a press release that would be released to the media the day of the meeting, Aug. 25. The press release addressed the allegations that were brought up at the Aug. 9 school board meeting, in which a few members of the public alleged that there have been inappropriate relations between sheriff's deputies and students. The press release stated the claims are unsubstantiated and without merit.
