Emily's Parade - We need cookies!

Thanks to everyone who donated cookies.

We had such a great response and I could not believe the assortment of cookies we got. The trunk of my car was filled twice. And that was only the donations I received. Others were brought to the Shawnee Tea Room, or folks brought them on Sunday. There were cookies, bars, rice krispy treats, brownies, etc. Homebaked and store bought. What a great turn-out. And I got to meet some folks I only heard about. I had a great time.

Not sure if they lasted thru the whole event as I had to leave early, but check this out.

The cake was absolutely glorious!! understand it was produced by "Cakes by Karen" and totally perfect....except for just one thing: cutting into it.
Maybe "Karen" can find some way to make the same cake next year, only with a lift-off icing? The pictures must have been sprayed on somehow, awesome to see photographs on a real live cake. Just wished there was some way to preserve it, seemed way too good to serve as an edible, more like a work of art.
