The Friends of Conifer Park and Recreation, an independent group of local citizens, will be hosting a town meeting on Thursday, Oct. 7, from 7-8:30 p.m. at West Jefferson Middle School to announce its plans to promote the establishment of a park and recreation district through a ballot initiative in May 2011.
