Amendment 60 would limit how property taxes are raised, and would overturn laws that have raised taxes since the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights was passed in 1992. It would cut mill levies in half by 2020.
Amendment 61 would require state and local governments to get voter approval before borrowing money.
As it should be!!!!
Proposition 101 revises income, telecommunications and vehicle taxes and fees. Notably, it limits yearly vehicle registration, license and title fees to $10 and repeals various other vehicle charges.
As it should be!!!! It has worked perfectly in the Commonwealth States for years. Unlike Colorado where they continue to charge you taxes on your vehicle based on the original MSRP, not the depreciated value of the vehicle which I've always found totally ludicrous. Just another way to keep getting more of our hard earned money and turn it back over to the government.
In Colorado, ballot amendments are changes to the state constitution. Propositions are changes to state statute.
Supporters of the measures say they would cut unnecessary spending and force governments and schools to operate more efficiently.
