Park County commissioners approved on Dec. 22 the $2.64 million purchase contract for a large portion of Tarryall Creek Ranch, to close on Dec. 30. The Colorado Division of Wildlife is providing a grant to pay for $2.14 million of that. The other $500,000 is coming from the County Land and Trust Fund, which gets its money from a 1 percent sales tax in Park County. Details in this week's Flume.

Ok, I am confused or maybe I am reading something wrong but the purchase contract is for 2.64 million and the DOW is going to provide a grant to pay for 21.4 million of it?

The purchase contract is being expressed in real dollars. The DOW is providing federal dollars. Federal dollars are the ones that any federal agency uses where they have to spend $9 to decide where to spend $1.
