Recently released results stemming from aerial surveys show that pine beetles destroyed an estimated 39,814 acres of trees in Park County in 2010, about a 20 percent increase compared with 2009, and a total of 230,943 acres of trees in Park County have been destroyed by pine beetles since the onslaught began, as early as 1994.
