Due to snowy, cold weather, Platte Canyon schools will be on a delayed schedule on Tuesday, Feb. 8, and the Lake George Charter School will be closed.
An IRIS (Immediate Response Information System) alert Tuesday morning from the Platte Canyon School District said that Fitzsimmons Middle School and Platte Canyon High School will begin at 9 a.m. and Deer Creek Elementary School will begin at 10 a.m.
Pat Lewis, principal at Lake George CHarter School, left a voice mail message that the school would be closed Tuesday because of bad weather.
The Fairplay-based Re-2 School District and Guffey Community Charter School could not be reached immediately for comment about their reaction to the weather Tuesday.
