Hillary Clinton might. She's got better qualifications now than Obama did when he ran the first time.

Randall Terry might run, but he doesn't stand a chance.

Incumbents almost always win a second term, particularly in a time of war.

The big news will be Obama's running mate:

I don't think Obama will have a serious contendor, maybe an uber-lefty like Kucinich might run for publicity sakes, but I don't see Hilary jumping into the fray. Besides, the Dems think Obama is too far to the right and Ms. Clinton is right of him.

Wouldn't it be funny if nobody else ran?

Hillary will be Obama's VP....probably the plan after the first few Biden gaffes....bet money on it.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I think she's done with politics. Better to end her career as Secretary of State than a bridesmaid.

But I agree, Biden will not be on the ticket. He'll probably drop out for "family reasons."

The smart money is on someone who would be the Democratic candidate in the 2016 race.

As for Republican candidates, what's Dan Quayle up to these days?

Normally, candidates for President that are not in the incumbent party have already made numerous trips to Iowa & New Hampshire by now, and at least one has formally declared. We're about 11 months away from the New Hampshire primary (usually in March of the election year) and nobody has announced. You have to admit that the field is pretty bad for the Republicans. If the best they can put forward is Gingrich or Bachman, well, that's not good.

I seriously doubt anyone from the Democratic party will run against an incumbent President. Hillary has already announced that she will be stepping down as Secretary of State and has admitted that she is going to retire from politics. She's through. I think that kresspin may be right and Obama might pick a new VP candidate, one that will be the front runner for 2016.

Like it or not, I think Obama is going to have a cakewalk to re-election in 2012. The Republicans don't have a serious contender and the Tea Party might split any support a conservative candidate will have.
