PC COMM CENTER: To the VOTERS

We need your support!

Ron and I, along with the financial support of several of you, have been plugging along at attempting to get the county commissioners to listen to YOU, the voters.

The next step has been completed. Using the financial resources from each of you, an attorney has been placed on retainer. An official letter has been drafted and will be remitted to the commissioners. Of course, this is not our only recourse. This is a formality that must be followed. Without getting into any strategy, we are formally asking the commisioners to listen once more.

We still need YOUR support.

A Colorado Secretary of State "approved format" petition will be drafted for each of you to sign and be available to have your friends and neighbors sign. This will be sent to the commissioners and original held for future use.

The goal is to get the commissioners to LISTEN TO YOU, THE VOTERS. All we are merely asking for is that the commissioners listen to STOP and LISTEN to the VOTERS.

If the majority of voters, after getting an education on the issue, approve the ballot measure, then we will cease. If they chose to stop the construction, then YOU win!

Look for the petition to be available this week!

Christopher

So at the risk of showing my ignorance, can you tell me what the issue is? I don't know what the PC Comm Center is or what this is in regards to. Thank you very much!

The Park County Commissioners have decided to build an 8500 Sq. Ft. Bldg. to house what will fit in a closet, equipment for a Communications Center rather than use part of the existing jail or any of the vacant buildings in Fairplay or elsewhere in Park County at the expense of $2.4 Million Dollars to be paid from PUC funds that are declining, and PILT funds that are not guaranteed to be received from the State. This could very easily mean a forced Mil levy to be imposed on the taxpayers. They are disregarding the decline in Population in the county for the second year in a row, the closing of businesses, the unemployment rate, and the number of people new to the welfare system.

We are asking for it to come to a vote of the taxpayers or to use existing facilities. The jail has lost a lot of money and is a drain on the budget, yet they refuse to consider using one of the pods for this.

Thanks so much, Nymsys. I didn't know what the post was about. I live in Jeffco so maybe that's why. I appreciate the explanation!
