Incorporate My Uterus
…before some politician gets between you and your M.D.
Mar 31, 2011 ... IncorporateMyUterus.com is a project of the ACLU of Florida. This website is intended for entertainment and political purposes only

"The point is that Republicans are always talking about deregulation and big government. But I say their philosophy is small government for the big guy and big government for the little guy. And so, if my wife's uterus was incorporated or my friend's bedroom was incorporated, maybe the Republicans would be talking about deregulating." - Representative Scott Randolph

Coast to coast, conservatives get elected by promising smaller government and less business regulation but as soon as they get elected, they rush to put big government regulations on the personal freedom and privacy of your body.

It’s a clear double standard. To them, there are too many regulations on pharmacies and fruit stands but not nearly enough government rules about your uterus.

Since they seem to agree that government has no business in business, it’s time to make your uterus into a business.

Why incorporate?
Businesses get special treatment these days. If lawmakers and other politicians see your uterus and your body as a business, maybe they’ll work to get government out of the uterus regulation business as they do for every other company.

In all seriousness, the efforts going on in several states to pass legislation limiting abortions is the wrong way to go about it, IMO. All it's going to do is piss off the independent voters who support Roe vs Wade and send them back to the Dems, and do nothing for significantly reducing abortion rates. Feel free to disagree, but first ask yourself honestly if Rep Randolph doesn't have a valid point.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

I support abortion rights because I think it is the best option for society but I wish is was more rare. (Showing where I stand.)

I have to agree with SC, it does seem like both sides trumpet freedom but then do all they can to limit it once elected. But I don't think the new South Dakota cooling off period is such a bad idea. You get 3 days to back out of a major financial deal, why shouldn't you take an extra day coming to peace with your decision before having your fetus cut out?
