Beer Sales Debated Again This Year!

Will the chain supermarkets finally win and be able to sell full strength beer?

Personally I am all for the consumer and would like to see chain stores able to sell beer and for liquors stores to have more than one location. I know a number of mom and pop liquor stores will close but I don't have much sympathy for those people. Making a living off selling booze isn't very far from being a marijuana dispensary.

The more Mom and Pop stores for everything possible is good.

So you would support Wal-Mart, Target, & Costco only allowed to have one location in state?

It would be very interesting to see Colorado go this way. Only one McDonalds, one Olive Garden, one Elway's.

When ever a chain runs a store, the concern is for volume sales. As a result the shelves are full of the items that have the most sales. Corporate literally decides what a local market will sell based on national sales statistics. As a result, there is less selection.

Not really true about only what sells nationally. I have seen Wal-Marts that vary what food they carry based on the part of town they are in, more Mexican food in hispanic sections of Denver, etc.

I stand corrected. Volume sales base on corporate market analyses. Any person that is part of the herd (majority demographic) will be happy with what is available.

Mike Rosen, a well-known conservative, had an opinion piece in the Post today IN FAVOR of letting grocery stores sell beer.
