I understand President Obama's desire to enjoy a legacy of excellence and fame.

At this juncture, he's going to enjoy a legacy of indebtedness.

That said - we've been headed in this direction since the early part of the Bush administration.

I suspect Senator McCain would have gone in the same direction (that's my low opinion of politics speaking - not my support of, or admiration of President Obama).
