If you own a dog in Iran, you may soon be prosecuted and given 30 lashes plus jail time. Then guess what happens to your dog....

I wonder if they feel the same way about us.....just dirty animals that need to be killed.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Life without a good hunting dog would be a life without much enjoyment.

I remember the many autumns in the field hunting quail, pheasant, prairie chickens, and grouse with excellent pointers and setters.

The sound of a pack of beagles as they chase a rabbit in the creek bottom. Every hunter should have the experience of hunting with these dogs.

There is nothing like hunting coons with a bawlmouth coondog. These dogs make sounds that you would swear does not come from the mouth of a dog, but rather it has to be a ghost.

Duck and goose hunting with a well trained Chessie or Lab makes life worth while.

I have hunted with squirrel dogs that were worth their weight in gold. They have an ability that cannot be overappreciated.

And herding dogs. I hate the little buggers! Let the Muslims have the herding dogs.

Regards,
Major Bean

When Mao was in power, dogs were considered decadent and not befitting the proletariat but now they are becoming popular as pets again instead of simply as a food source.
To me, it seems the better we treat our animal companions, the more advanced the society has become.

I don't think that dogs and cities mix that well (but I'm interested in the welfare of the dogs - not in the welfare of 7th century superstition).

A lot of Arabia has real problems with wild dogs (they're rabid, and likely spread a variety of diseases). In that context, they are filthy.

I don't really have a problem with well-cared for pet dogs (and frankly, most Iranians don't either)

Where I lived - dogs (specifically the Saluki) were respected (just about revered)

It wasn't unusual to be offered a Saluki as a thanks for a good deed
However, you had to promise - it would never part company with you.

I hope it's just an animal control initiative taken out-of-context.

Iran has such a big bag of idiotic stunts - I could be very wrong about that.
