In all fairness, LJ, I haven't seen much in the way of "birther" stuff coming from CG.

All the more reason that I think the Republicans really need to walk carefully with this stuff if they don't want to end up splintering their own party.

I never believed the pres was not born here but I also thought all candidates should be vetted and if they were only vetted by their own party then just check it out and let those that still have a conspiracy theory keep it up. So, how is that a wing nut argument? Everything is wingnut crazies to you. Maybe they are, I don't know, but that does not mean they should not investigate it and put it to rest. Then this story would not even be out there except maybe on the Hannity show.
