The White House has been saying for months that the Obamas would not attend the wedding. And anyway, the president and first lady have to show up for Saturday night's White House Correspondents Association dinner, the next day.
Maybe the Obamas aren't invited because the roayals were afraid they'd bring a wedding present of three dish towels and a hand painted "Bless this happy home" sign?

Maybe he didn't want to hear the right-wing complain about the gas it would have taken to fly Air Force-1 over there. They'd beat him up about going, and they try to make something out of nothing because he isn't going....

Actually I picked up the news about the royal wedding guests from the The Week.
And I know some people think the royals have it made, but I think they are really riding a tiger. The royal family is pretty expensive and holds lots of property, in the wake of massive budget cuts, the general public and Parliament may decide to stop footing the bill. So to a certain extent, the Windors are on the dole. Notice that both Prince William and Prince Harry have real jobs in the military and the family has said that the newlyweds will like in on base housing without servants.
