Would you rather send your kid to a school w/ or w/o cop(s)?

Curious if parents prefer schools with cops to those without. Same q really goes for communities (more or less police, relative to people).

I could see things both ways. The perception that police offer safety and protection...or that their presence implies a problem being reacted to. But I also know is does not take much convincing to spend money around here.

My gut reaction says that I would not want to send my kid to a school that required police, I would seek another community, because if the decision was made to make such a large investment, there must be something that is being reacted to.

I am NOT saying I condone school violence or shootings or that police do not provide protection. Police obviously protect, but over staffing results in a community imbalance.

My understanding is that their are police in the schools N or Kenosha (recent news) but not on the Fairplay side of the world, is this true, and if so, why one vs. the other?

Thanks for playing. Other thoughts?

Socialist regimes have policing authorities present at all times. The school systems of America are socialist hot beds. They teach kids to depend on the government for everything... free lunch, free books, free education, and free police. Trust the authorities...trust the government...and tax the rich.

If we had families raising a child instead of a village...the violence would drop significantly. In the meantime, we have dual income families or single family homes raising children....both are dysfunctional.

You need to have another choice: Teachers trained and have concealed weapons permit.
And another: Home school

Can't do that... they would have to get federal firearms classes. We can't afford the training. rofllol rofllol

I don't really think it makes a bit of difference if there is a cop in the school. If you have a couplke thousands kids and faculty, you would probably need at least 10 officers around to be able to make any difference.

When I went to West Jeff Elementary and Jr High way back when, there WAS law enforcement...it was called a big wooden paddle and I met it only once, and it worked.

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

I'm in and out of schools all day long, every day. Funny how I find so many of SRO's sitting in their offices, tucked away from where the kids are. Wasteful use of resources. JMTCW.

I had the same type of enforcement... it strung on the butt and burned into the brain not to do it again. Again, another libtard movement, removal of corporal punishment and replace it with sexually assaulting teachers.

Now that is funny I don't care who you are.

Pay a POS fat ass pedophile to watch kids all day for 25K a year or just have a teach get a permit and show up once a month for firearms training Hmmmm.?

There absolutely is a "school cop" at South Park Schools. I'm unsure about Guffy or Lake George, but in Fairplay, you betcha there is one. This was instituted along with locking the doors while class is in session after the Platte Canyon incident in 2006.

I've gone to a school without a campus cop, I've gone to one with one, I've taught in schools both with and without them. Honestly? Never noticed a difference from the teacher or student side. On the rare occasion that a police presence was needed, seems that they were there just as quickly either way.

Otherwise, they buddied around with the kids, didn't deter any of the junior crimminals, people still ditched class, school was still school.

Yes, there are serious circumstances we can all point to, especially locally, where a campus cop could have stopped things - maybe. Maybe detered things, maybe not.

If it comes down to new textbooks or a campus cop to be paid for, I'm leaning toward the textbooks.
