Islamic scholars question bin Laden's sea burial
CAIRO (AP) -- Muslim clerics are saying that Osama bin Laden's burial at sea was a violation of Islamic tradition.
Many are saying it shows a disregard for the Muslim practice of placing the body in a grave with the head pointed toward Mecca.
A U.S. official said the decision was made after concluding it would have been hard to find a country that would accept the remains. There also was speculation about worry that a grave site could have become a rallying point for militants.
President Barack Obama said the remains had been handled in accordance with Islamic custom, which requires speedy burial.
But a radical Lebanese cleric called it a "strategic mistake" that was bound to stoke rage. He says Americans were hoping to "humiliate" Muslims by disposing of bin Laden's remains that way.

I gotta agree with VL on this one. Bin Laden sealed his own fate and justice has been served. The dancing in the streets on either side is not my cup of tea and all it does is create more bad blood. Let the deed be done and move on. I'd rather see people focusing more on trying to mend fences than instigate crap. JMO

The U.S. tradition (which should have been followed) is to bring the body back and submit it to forensic investigation. To hell with the feelings of the Muslims. This is our justice, not theirs. Are we afraid of them? To hell with them!

Still can't understand this post. You know I agree with you on most everything but can you please explain how you give Obama almost twice as much credit as our military on the ground who have been risking their lives daily while Obama has golfed almost 70 rounds in the last couple years? And how you give Obama almost twice as much credit as our intel that tracked him down in this compound while he was pushing to cut funding to them?
