It looks like you will get your physical from TSA soon to board a Train.

A "glaring loophole" in security of the nation's rail system demands that Amtrak begin much tougher scrutiny of passengers before boarding, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer said Monday, proposing a "no ride" list similar to airlines' "no fly" lists.
Schumer suggested a new screening process would be relatively simple to implement. Passengers already have to give their name when purchasing tickets for the train, but Schumer's plan would call for riders to show photo ID before boarding. The IDs would be compared to the name on their ticket and matched against a list of known or suspected terrorists

It's hard to derail a train when you're riding in it.
I'd say a passenger poses little to no threat.
I agree with BB.
Destroying a bridge or the track near a valuable target, such as a school, downtown center, or chemical plant whould have a greater effect and easier to pull off.
Ask the people in London or Madrid if they think a suicide bomber on a train is worth worrying about.
Another case where you would go batsh*t and scream that we were being "soft on terror" if they didn't do it and piss'n"moan that "rights are being violated" if they do. You must have a horrible case of whiplash from all this flip- flopping.
The UK, Spain, and India built civilizations around passenger train systems. Amtrak is not central - and not dramatic enough for your average terrorist.
LJ --- you really want the likes of TSA goons at the Amtrak station, too?
I'm not soft on terror - and I'm not going to accuse anyone of being soft on it, if we don't get a train marshal in every other car.
We could really use a reduction in TSA, if you ask me.
I am NO FAN of TSA. The idea of body-cavity searches at train stations is NOT what I want to see. What I'm tired of is the incessant crap of carping about "A" if the administration does "B"; and carping about "B" if the administration does "A"...

I never thought I'd say this, but I think I agree with LJ....
