Bottom line is that Omama is a master campaigner. He knows which votes he will never get, and he knows which votes are on the fence, and in this case, the border fence. The advantage he has is that he can make lots of grand promises and try to make Republicans look uncaring, greedy, or just mean with lots of cheering from his base and lots of new votes from people who think he's bringing their relatives amnesty. Then the House shoves the bill in the trash and he can say "I tried...vote for me!".
Just once I'd like to see him put the security of America first without regard to which voters he may piss off. (and no, giving the ok to kill Osama did not accomplish that). And for the record, Bush didn't do it either so save your breath.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
What kind of program to secure the borders do you think has a chance of passing? If it involves lots of money for more agents, a fence, troops or National Guard, or whatever.. on the border would Republicans vote to spend the money? What kind of plan could the Republicans come up with that wouldn't require massive amounts of money. This has always been a lose-lose issue for any party that tackles it.
How can Obama put the security of America first and get the money to fund that security?
What kind of plan would Republicans go for?
I keep asking these questions and yet I get no answers. At this point, if the Republicans have an plan, I really do want to hear it. It's time to stop pointing fingers...one party at another....and work out a plan. I still haven't heard IF the Republicans actually have any ideas on what to do.....you can keep bashing Obama all you want....but if Republicans have nothing to offer either, why not go after them too?
None of the presidents have done a damn thing. They are all scared of losing the hispanic vote. Obama going to the border and make comments and jokes like he did, did nothing but fuel the fire on immigrantion. Most already know my stance on it, get them the hell out of this country if they are here illegally and take their damn kids with them, and they are not just hispanic. They want to come here and live and enjoy the America way bad or good as it is, then there is a process. Follow it or carry your arse out of here. That is part of the problem with this country is the illegals. Another example the other day. There is a post on it here. Another example of an illegal stealing a SSN, earning money and now the IRS is going after the real owner for money he never saw. What is the solution, don't know and not sure there is a good one, but Obama making jokes at the border is sure as hell not one of the solution either.

I don't see either party addressing it.....but perhaps you can set me straight on this....does the Republican house have a bill they are trying to pass on immigration? If a Republican candidate for president has a solid plan to deal with the illegals and border security then I would think he/she would have a leg up on Obama in the election....but so far I haven't heard of one.
Even if it is off topic, why do we need to have an immigration bill? Don't we have all the laws we need? Isn't it only a matter of enforcing them? It is agreed that the federal government under various administrations has NOT adequately addressed the boarder issue. If there is an enforcement problem and states along the boarder step up to help, why then is the Federal government bringing suit against those who try (specifically Arizona). Is this a matter of being politically shown up by a Republican taking a hard stance or a philosophical difference?
Back on topic. Even if there are philosophical differences, Obam's positioning and stage play was ill conceived. Instead of striving for unity in an area that threatens the countries well being, he was nothing but divisive. Why is that?
