not necessarily....it's also about the science and lack of clinical trials......over the years there have been many "cures" for cancer come along, and people would flock to clinics using them, and while they were treating their cancer with the latest miracle cure the cancer would grow till they died. That time could be better spent with the methods we know work now and are tested...
Here is a link to the original abstract which is from 2007 with links to the results from the first clinical trials that ended in 2009...they show slowing of growth of tumors, or stopping the growth but I didn't see where the cancer was cured in the trials. I admit I didn't read all the updates, but as best I can tell it is not the miracle cure that article you posted is claiming.
But It also means we're getting closer...
IMO, TM, if they can grow 'em they can kill 'em.
And archer, we have lots of human subject we can use for clinical trials, they're called DEATH ROW inmates.
Before you get your panties all bunched up on the left, the ones with cancer first, then volunteers.
EDITED: That WOULD SAVE $$$, and possiblly save innocent lives. Maybe some of these slimeballs, would want to do something worth while for the human race, instead of just being parisites on U.S. until they die.
There is a huge difference between growing cancer and curing it. The report only talks about the processes involved and the theoretical approach on how to deal with it before blaming drug companies for suppressing the science. There is a lot more that needs to be done and if the science is good, the you can rest assured that it will see the light of day. To many with "incurable" cancer are most willing to try that one step that might give them additional life and there will always be one doctor who is ready to give them that chance.
The thing is that they can't patent it so they can't make a butt load of money. So they want to pursue other more lucrative money making research instead.
Sorta like your car battery is dead, but lets replace the starter first.
There is no way that the AMA would let a thing like this happen! Do you have any idea how economically devastating it would be to the AMA and all those involved if they found a cure to cancer? It is just like the cars that were created years ago that could run without gas...no way. If you think that doctors or the AMA have your health first and for most in their minds you are fooling yourself. This is about money and always will be.

TPP....my issue with the OP isn't that I am against a cure for cancer....sheesh, no one wants a cure more than I do.....but saying there is one and it's being kept a secret is irresponsible and false. They are no where near a cure in this instance, and have only scratched the surface of clinical trials.....what exactly did the OP expect the media to be reporting?
As for death row inmates....are there really enough to make up a clinical trial? would you give them cancer just to try and cure it? wouldn't that be cruel and unusual punishment? Trust me on this, cancer is not some little disease you can give someone and they won't suffer....it's nasty, it hurts, it devastates, it is cruel.......I doubt the Supreme Court would OK that. There are plenty of people with cancer who, after exhausting all other avenues for remission, will gladly try something different.
