archer, I wasn't commenting on you not wanting to cure cancer, I was commenting on the use of imates. YES, they're are enough in the U.S. for clinical trails, and more added each day.
Once again you jumped without reading, "the ones with cancer first, then volunteers."
Force them to go though that Would "be cruel and unusual punishment", and I wouldn't agree.
Off topic, But they should be helping society in some way, instead of just living off U.S.?
And Trust me on this, I KNOW what suffering comes with it! (seen to many family members & friends go that way).
Waiting with baited breath now, for my Dad results.
Personally, I don't believe in taking poision to kill a poision, so if (God Forbid) I even do get it, I'll go herbal, but that's it! Besides drugs for pain, of course.
You & I are on the same side on this, just looking at (Including throwing out ideas) ANY way that will help cure this sh*t!
EDITED: I do wish there was as much awareness for prostate cancer as there is with breast cancer.

Do you have any idea how economically devastating it would be to the AMA and all those involved if they found a cure to cancer? It is just like the cars that were created years ago that could run without gas...no way. If you think that doctors or the AMA have your health first and for most in their minds you are fooling yourself. This is about money and always will be.
Oh ye of little faith in mankind. It is a generalization that may accurately encompass many, but it does not apply to all doctors. There are souls out there who actually care about what they are doing more than they care about money. It's finding such honesty that keeps hope in mankind alive. A comparison with inanimate is totally inapplicable as there is no free will involved.
We shall see where this all goes if ever we do get science that knows enough about cancer development to attack it more effectively. As pointed out previously, the referenced research was a working hypothesis, meaning the researchers, believed, that this would be a viable approach. It did not state that this was unequivocally the way to cure cancer.
My point is that ANY step forward, is NOT a step backward.
BTW, the cure for cancer takes Money, for research, and is a faction in higher health care costs.
Just think!!!! If the government takes over healthcare, DO YOU REALLY THINK that the research & testing for a cure would continue, IMO, it would be cut MASSIVELY, if not killed (no pun) al together, because under that system it would NOT be profitable for the government, to keep people around, (Not death panels) business sense!
And I would rather have my family "pull the plug", (which they will do), than an government account.
Just say'in...

I do think it will continue. Perhaps not in the same way, but many academics will continue their search simply because it is a huge problem that needs to be solved and they will purse its solution for the challenge it represents.
