I started this thread, for 2 reasons, 1. to inform, and start talk at dinner tables, and 2 because IMO, history is NOT being taught in out schools.
Make it 3, I like to remember what I was taught, and learn things that I wasn't, or have forgotten.
I'll try to keep up, If I miss a day sorry, or maybe somebody else could fill in for me.

From what I see my kids learning, it looks like they learn about what happened, but not why it happened as much. I think kids should also be shown how history is often repeated with similar outcomes and we don't seem to learn from our, or other government's mistakes.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Your opinion about history not being taught in our schools would be most wrong. Based on the curriculum I've seen at Conifer High and talking with some of the teachers & students who take those history courses, they are much more advanced than any courses I ever took in High School. The students understanding of history, and the reasons for the actions that occurred in the past, is impressive.
