get with the program....red states/blue states......
You telling the man what to do?
nope...maybe you should lighten up major bean....you can be such a sour puss. And yeah....now I am tellin you what to do, or suggesting, but I wouldn't post a "shut the hell up" even with you.
Just to elaborate a bit. I think the Kool Aid emotion is somewhat unique in that it doesn't signify what the poster is thinking, but rather it's an attack on the person the poster is responding to. As in "you drink the Kool Aid". I don't think it means I love red Kool Aid.
Yes, other emotions can be interpreted like that, but it's depending on how they are used. Is there another one that's almost exclusively an attack? Maybe ?
Not that I'm serious about eliminating it, or any other emotion. I just think it is the easy "cut and paste" attack emotion.
One problem with forums, email and text is that it is hard to pick up on facial expressions, and tone because you cannot hear the spoken voice. Smilies or emoticons give some emotion to the text. The are important on a forum. IMO.

Emoticons are fun. They do help convey more of a message than words alone and for that are worth keeping. I do not think they are any less valuable than some of the pictures or cartoons people post to make a point. A picture is said to be worth a thousand words, and I'd suggest emoticons can be equally affective. So what are my words conveying in terms of emotions regarding this topic? Perhaps this will help.

More excuses than a pregnant nun.
You don't like it don't use them. I am thinking you could stand to use more of them.
