I remember a cop down in Lakewood ordering a young girl (like 18 or 19) to take a sign out of her car window (at a gas station) because it was derogatory towards a president that he supported. She basically told him to pound sand that it was within her rights to have it. It was on the news and he had to apologize.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- A 35-year-old driver was ticketed for flipping off a Colorado state trooper, and now the ACLU is defending him, saying that giving the bird is protected speech and not a crime.
Shane Boor was cited on April 19 for misdemeanor harassment involving an obscene gesture after another trooper tracked him down at his workplace, according the American Civil Liberties Union and court records.
"It’s rude to flip off a cop, but it’s not a crime," Mark Silverstein, ACLU legal director, said in a Thursday statement.
When I was a radical college student in the 80's, I yelled "fascist oppressor" at a passing police car. It stopped in the middle of the street and I was so shocked I just stood there, but my buddy ran so the policewoman chased after him and finally cornered him in a alley, while I quietly walked home. He was so pissed at me, even though he didn't get arrested, just screamed at for awhile.

I had a Jeffco unmarked car try to force me off the road because I would not pull over for an unmarked car. I was rolling down my window and pointing ahead to let him know that I saw him and I was NOT stopping by myself in the canyon. (I pulled into the fire station when I got to it). This was back when they had a rash of guys acting like unmarked police cars pulling folks over and they (the police) told us (the public) to NEVER pull over in a secluded area and we didn't even need to pull over for an unmarked car, that we could call for a regular unit, except I did not have a cell phone.
I went down and met with the sheriff in person on this one. oh and why did he pull me over? because I flashed my headlights to let oncoming cars know there was a speed trap ahead with a state patrol. That was also within my first amendment rights. It is not against the laugh to flash your headlights, but he decided to bully me anyway. I was livid.
Would this guy have flipped off the officer if he was right next to him on foot? I seriously doubt it. Would he go to court and flip off the judge? Only if he was mentally ill.
Just like these forums, it's easy to make drive-by insults knowing you would most likely never have to look that person in the face. This guy made a bad calculation and I hope it costs him in some way. We are becoming a society of disrespectful a-holes since we rarely have to communicate face to face anymore. Freedom of expression is fine and dandy, but you should also act like an adult and respect the people who put their lives on the line for us daily.
I also know for a fact that this guy would be greatful if one day he was helped by an officer - which is happening all over this country as we speak.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Nope, the cops do not get to chase down, using planes and other cars, and ticket someone who is protected under the Constitution. No matter how much the cop dislikes it.

Very smart Wily. I would have done the exact same thing!
