he's a democrat, at least that is what they have been calling him all day

Denver City Councilman Michael Hancock defeated fellow Democrat and former state Sen. Chris Romer in Tuesday's mayoral election to succeed now-Gov. John Hickenlooper.

I don't think McNichols was a Republican. Besides Denver is supposed to have non-partisan elections.

I am not excited about Hancock, I think he will have grand ideas on how to expand services but with the current reduced tax base, few means of achieving them.
