Yep, to keep our bill in check, we have switched to the store brand, and still we are paying more than last year.
Also noticing it in fast food, other than the $1 menu, other prices have gone up 10-15%.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Most items have skyrocketed- many up 50% or more. Prices for meat are out of control. In many cases, the size has shrunk- this is a trick to get you to keep buying, but we're getting less product for more money.
I think we are just starting to see the beginning of this- the coming years will get worse and worse. After all- according to the government we don't have any inflation YET.
I'll be pulling elk and deer tags again this year in hopes of filling my freezer with free range meat instead of store bought. I've planted my 2 gardens again this year- I buy a lot less at the store in the summer of those things I can grow up here.
I've also noticed that eating out costs alot more too- a good meal will run 20-30 bucks and that same meal would have cost 10-15 bucks a few years ago. Even a fast food meal is going to cost upwards of 10 bucks these days.
I'm learning to cook my favorite foods at home- things like Indian food. In the winter I cook mostly on my wood stove and don't hardly bother using the electric stove. I buy rice 25 lbs at a time, beans in bulk and will do more of that kind of thing in the future.
Everyting gonna cost more real soon- time to start planning and taking evasive action!

Thqat's the new way of trying to trick us. I'm an ice cream monster and noticed the prices soaring and the containers shrinking. Probably designed for my own good.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
there are only 2 of us, but we try to buys whatever we can in bulk.......meat, paper products, coffee,.....it may be a nuisance to store, but it does save us money. Costco is our friend, but even their prices have gone way up, and you have to be careful about what you buy, some stuff is still cheaper in the grocery store if it's on sale.
