My party right or wrong? The right sticks to the anti-gov, the left switched to pro-gov. The total reverse of the 60's and 70's
Obama keeps the policy on wiretaps etc, no criticism from the left.
The right never bitched about "no child" crap or Medicare part D.
What the hell is happening?
These are a few true blue party faithful here, but a lot more of us who have problems with both sides. For example, Clinton & "W" didn't slow down the housing bubble. They liked having everyone buy houses they couldn't afford and stimulating the construction business and let historical standards of credit worthiness and down payments go by the wayside.

SS you are right, they stimulated an artificial wealth. Piper is piping. We will have to pay, hopefully not too long.
I take issue with the premise jmc. The right is not anti-government. It is anti-single government. The two are not interchangeable despite the best efforts of the regressives to make it appear so.

PS you are an idealist , look at the political reality we have to choose from in OUR lifetimes. The right is the same as the left, it is all about winning, no ideology that I see. Just sport.
The talking heads and the cable news that doesn't even try to be non-partisan are a big part of it. The noise machine throws everything it can again one side and the other in order to create a hostile atmosphere in which no one can be seen giving an inch to the opposite side or else they are eaten alive on the spot (Newt found this one out recently). The rich are throwing smoke bombs while they flee with all of the money, which isn't hard since they control the media, the government and the Fed, everything. People square off about gay marriage, flag burning and the like and the money keeps flowing down the drain and into the riches pocket while no one notices and the rights of the people are stripped away layer by layer under the guise of "security". The Congress is only interested in stopping the progress of the other side, usually to score political points, so they can throw press conference after press conference vilifying the other side and score points with campaign donors and creating sound bites to be used in their reelection campaign.
The b*llsh*t is so thick and vicious that it gets ahold of everyone, right, left, independent alike. The politicians are snake oil salesman that are selling boogey men to everyone at ten times the normal price and cousin, business is a boomin...

Well said, and I agree for the most part. I do think there is a new group of people who are in Washington who honestly want to change the status quo but they are greatly outnumbered. I wish we could fire them all and replace them all with people who live and work in the real world and only want to serve instead of being life long politicians.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
