For me - some of the Tea Party rhetoric reminds me of Hitler's rise to power in the 30s.
Sorry BB, but I have to call you out on this one. WTF are you talking about? Please explain to me why a large group of people who are tired of the failed government status quo and want to see some real changes are like Hitler's rise to power. And please don't give some isolated anecdotal evidence.
I agree with Double B- You guys sound like facists, and you don't even know it because you're completely ignorant of History. Heres one example- You hate the ACLU

But what would be the catalyst, and/or mechanism, by which we could rein in the hoarding of power by those at the top? Do we see the current events (and I'm talking the last 40 years) as starting to follow that downward/lesser government path? I see government growth and restriction as being sine/cosine wave-like - there must be a constant push and pull of "too much" vs "not enough" because we haven't evolved out of our petty, short-term thinking. Does it really require rebellion/revolution, or can the next dramatic change be peaceful?

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
What is being tried is peaceful change through voting and elections. The question is how much will the centralized government complex allow? That will determine whether a revolution becomes necessary.

No it doesn't...
Heartless is correct, vl, O they will on a rare occasion, stand for a RIGHT-Thinker, but they put all they have for the leftist.
Its all revolves around "our rights" They just built a big Muslim Mosque down south somewhere..It's was very similar to the mega churches you see in Littleton. It was on CNN, and all the white people there are fighting it and were saying stuff like "this is a small town, and with Muslims suddenly being here in such big numbers they will end up on school boards, working at City Hall, being police officers, and maybe even judges! and then we will all be screwed!" Then the TV guy explained to the guy that we have a seperation of Church n State in America so he doesn't have to worry about that..
Believe me, the first time any of those crackers see anything Muslim at thier kids school, the courthouse, or on Police Cars they will be on the phone begging the ACLU to come protect them, and the ACLU with be right thiere with thier lawyers makin them take it down, just like they do with nativity scenes
