Since LJ's new mantra is that the House Republicans are doing everything but creating jobs, I thought I would address this. Seems House Republicans are going to allow incandescent bulbs to once again be sold in the United States. Think of all the old light bulb plants that will be re-opened. And since these burnout much faster than the mercury laced CFL's, they will need to be replaced and more produced.
And since they aren't as energy efficient, that many new coal mine jobs will be created.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Don't know why that would be, but I would chalk it up to poor installation. LED's should last about 8 times longer. The problem that I have heard of is that the incandescent bulbs generated much more heat and kept the snow from building up on the lights while the LED's just get covered.
