Too many times? Can you cite some other examples of his disrespect for the military? I assume that you have lots and lots of these examples, otherwise, you would not have made that statement.

The biggest one that comes to mind, is his statements to public comment on what he is doing with the troops. That should be kept within the confines of the him and the DOD. It is not for public knowledge. Nothing like telling the enemy what we are doing and when.

The man made a mistake...and most will admit it was a bad one, but it doesn't make him uncaring or indicates he finds the Medal of Honor meaningless. The ceremony where he gave it to a soldier who had returned home was very special and obviously was very meaningful to him and to the recipient.

You are like children with their parents.....your parents can do a thousand things for you and you never notice or care, but let them slip up and suddenly you are the harshest of critics. Sorry.......you have played the I'm outraged with Obama card a few too many times to be believable.

Obama said that the soldiers have died for nothing! His quote: "we have now spent $400 billion and has seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted". This is extremely insulting to soldiers fighting and dying.

Here is another example:

Outrage: Obama Administration Targets Military for Pay Reductions

President Barack Obama — who came to power with the help of government employee unions across the nation and has lavished on them hundreds of billions in stimulus funds to keep them on federal, state and local payrolls with no strings attached — is moving to cut spending on salaries for military personnel.

Do you have a source for that exact quote?

never mind I found it.....it's from when he was a senator not president, and he apologized for the inference which may, or may not have been what he meant.

When did a smaller raise become a reduction in pay?

from your cited article:

the Obama administration is “pleading” with Congress to give military personnel a much smaller increase in pay than lawmakers have proposed.

I'm not saying it was a good thing, I don't know what the numbers are (do you?) but a smaller raise is NOT a reduction in pay.......

I just wanted to make this easier to find the next time a thread gets around to the budget. The democrats always call a reduction in the rate of increase of the federal budget a cut.

Seems as if everyone has an excuse for his lack of consideration for and true feelings about the military.

I'm well aware that you don't think apologies are necessary....or desirable. It takes a real man/woman to apologize. Something most of us here would do well to remember. (yes, I included myself in that statement)

I don't doubt Obama's concern for the military men and women.....I do believe he cares deeply for them and the nearly untenable position these wars have placed them in. Obama has made no apologies for being against the war.....and I think history will prove he, and others, were right to oppose the Iraq war. Opposing war.....as I do too, does not mean you don't care about the troops, their safety, and their families.

You are just a bitter old crab. The guy made a mistake. Even I cut GW a break more than you do our elected president that was picked by the people (and he couldn't even say NUCLEAR). I think it is cool that someone got the medal of honor.

You never respond to anything - Just incite. BORING.

Thank you....neptune. I thought it was quite amusing to see a conservative use a smaller raise as a cut in pay. Maybe major bean should turn in his conservative card.
