Rome wasn't built in a day... Because of the trade guilds! In modern day terms, show me a job that comes in on time, with high quality, and on or under budget and I'll wager it was performed by independent contractors.

If you work in a mine, a rail yard, a police or fire station I get it, you need a union to protect your working conditions and keep you safe. Unionized office workers and tradesmen just drive up cost, unionized government office workers and tradesmen are an expense most states and our country can no longer afford.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
