Tacky, but I think it was done more for convienence than to use the White House as a background.
If the DNC really wanted to do that, film inside the Oval Office or with the White House in the background.
The real miscue here was telling potential donors that they would have to suffer through a dinner with Biden. That should cut donations in half.
