Personally I was surprised when I heard this on Red Eye a few weeks ago. But the Beatles were tax dodgers so it might be true.
Side note: the modern Lennon, Bono from U2, Mr. Charity is now accused of tax evasion. Guess the man is fine with giving his time and money for charity, but he prefers to spend it his own way than letting Ireland decide where his money is going to go.

Tax-dodgers? You mean like GE making billions, but paying NO taxes? You mean like all the rich American tax-cheating slime hiding their assets in the Cayman Islands and numbered Swiss bank accounts? I thought those guys were your heroes?

Tax dodgers? No, GE is just taking advantage of those tax credits Congress and Obama like to hand out, like money back for buying Chevy Volts or green energy.
One of the drawbacks of crafting a tax code based on social engineering, your taxpayers might choose to take advantage of them and lower your tax reciepts.
Instead of doing the best capital investment for the company.
Modern Lennon? The hot new singer Adele had a rant this month about paying too many taxes. Seems much of her money goes to support her extended family, but the UK decided thay know better where to send it.
