lol Seems Jeffco's parks new campaign to encourage dog owners to pick up after their mutts is getting national attention, being featured on the Rachel Maddow show according to this week's Westword.

And while I am a conscientous animal owner, does anyone else had more issues with goose waste or horse apples when they hike in JeffCo parks?

Supposedly according to the press release, domestic dog poop has supernatural properties and won't break down like wild animal scat. Anyone really believe this?

No, I don't believe dog poop won't break down, although it does take longer than horse poop. And yes, I see more horse poop on the trails but if I had to choose between stepping into a day old horse poop or a day old dog poop, I'd step in about twenty horse poops. It's basically just chopped hay, hardly offensive at all. Carnivore/omnivore poop is MUCH yuckier.
