Rapists.

I can't believe we're still having this discussion. Why can't many men seem to get this? Is rape as biological as eating? Are most men potential rapists? If not, why is :no2: still considered conditional unless you're a 9 year old virgin?

Most rapists never face arrest, much less jail. Statistically it seems you're less likely tobe punished if you rape your neighbor than if you pocket a Snickers bar in a 7/11. Am I the only one who is driven to despair by this?

Some fear chilling effect on women reporting rapes

NEW YORK (AP) — When Kristen Bakalar was pulled into a wooded area by a stranger and raped, three weeks after beginning college, she didn't think twice about reporting it.
It was only on the witness stand, as the 18-year-old was being quizzed about her sex life and about the precise color and length of her pubic hair, that she fully realized just how brutal the experience of bringing her rapist to justice would be.
Bakalar, now 30, doesn't pretend to know what happened between former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the hotel maid accusing him of attempted rape. But she does know what it's like to be the accuser in a rape investigation. And she fears that the messy, high-profile case, with its public glare on past faults of the accuser, will have a chilling effect on women reporting rapes.

Sadly, I have to agree with you.

This is one crime that goes unpunished far too often.

Wholeheartedly agree. There are reports from women in the military of being sexually assaulted and/or harrassed and having to work side-by-side with the perpetrator. Ultimately, re-victimizing the woman and giving the impression to the man that what they did is/was OK.
