Hitler may have wound up as a Fascist, but he ran as a socialist. Nazi, National Socialist Party.

But Obama isn't a dictator, in fact he accomplished very little considering the Dems had the House, Senate, and Presidency. It will be quite interesting to see how people write about Barack in 20 years. Will he only be noted for his ethnicity and Obamacare? Or will he be like Carter, running the country into the ditch only to have it put back on the road by a strong Republican.

Bush wasn't like Hitler. Neither is Obama. You people just don't have a sense of scale. Where are the death camps, the storm troopers, the Gestapo? What a bunch of whiney entitled little babies that every time the other party gets into power everyone starts screaming "Hitler!" hysterically. Obviously no one here has seen close up what a tyrant looks like if they think anything in America even comes close. Incredible.

Topic is about People, not that bush/barry are hitler but the similarities of how people will vote a used car salesman into office on the promise of little.

People are sheep and easily led by a person that isn't qualified to be a leader.
That is what happened for the Third Reich, Change and Hope.

Hitler still ran as a socialist and took over a socialist party. Just like Obama ran as a "progressive" but managed to extend the Bush tax cuts, keep us in two "illegal" wars and is attacking Libya without congressional approval.

Starting a war without congressional approval? He does sound a little like Hitler after all. And Hitler did speed? Like Obama did MJ and cocaine according to his own words.

No, Hitler was NOT a "Socialist"... I could create a party with the word "Republican" in it, and run on it... That doesn't mean I'm a Republican...

(And John Quincy Adams was NOT a "founding father"...) But, hey, if you guys repeat it enough, after awhile YOU believe it!... (Nobody else does, but YOU do...)

If Hitler hated socialism so much, why didn't he create a new name for his party? He was dictator after all. Mussolini was willing to call his group Fascists.

Fascism didn't exist before Mussolini, so why would he be shy about the term? The meaning and connotations of words evolve and change throught history and cultures.

And Hitler's Germany before WWII was much more socialist than FDR's New Deal, so although Hitler supposedly hated socialism, he wasn't shutting down the programs.

Hitler ran on a platform of militant nationalism. The socialism he advocated was only for the Aryans. Je played on the desire of a discouraged and despairing populace to blame someone other than themselves for their misery.
