So, I forget... What is it this week? Kenyan-born, muslim, gay, socialist/fascist, .... It's so hard to keep up.
Hitler may have wound up as a Fascist, but he ran as a socialist. Nazi, National Socialist Party.
But Obama isn't a dictator, in fact he accomplished very little considering the Dems had the House, Senate, and Presidency. It will be quite interesting to see how people write about Barack in 20 years. Will he only be noted for his ethnicity and Obamacare? Or will he be like Carter, running the country into the ditch only to have it put back on the road by a strong Republican.

Bush wasn't like Hitler. Neither is Obama. You people just don't have a sense of scale. Where are the death camps, the storm troopers, the Gestapo? What a bunch of whiney entitled little babies that every time the other party gets into power everyone starts screaming "Hitler!" hysterically. Obviously no one here has seen close up what a tyrant looks like if they think anything in America even comes close. Incredible.

That's like constantly regurgitatng the "57 states" bullsh*t... You take it out of context and it's not true...
According to Joseph Goebbels in an official exposition of the ideology, the logic behind the synthesis of Nationalism and Socialism as represented in the name, was to "counter the Internationalism of Marxism with the nationalism of a German Socialism".
In Preussentum und Sozialismus ("Prussiandom and Socialism", 1919), Spengler described socialism outside of a class conflict perspective and said "The meaning of socialism is that life is controlled not by the opposition between rich and poor, but by the rank that achievement and talent bestow. That is our freedom, freedom from the economic despotism of the individual."[53] Spengler claimed that socialistic Prussian characteristics existed across Germany that included creativity, discipline, concern for the greater good, productivity, and self-sacrifice.[54] Spengler's definition of socialism did not advocate change in property relations.[53] Spengler denounced Marxism for seeking to train the proletariat to "expropriate the expropriator", the capitalist, and then to let them live a life of leisure on this expropriation.[55] He claimed that "Marxism is the capitalism of the working class" and not true socialism.[55] True socialism according to Spengler would be in the form of corporatism, stating that "local corporate bodies organized according to the importance of each occupation to the people as a whole; higher representation in stages up to a supreme council of the state; mandates revocable at any time; no organized parties, no professional politicians, no periodic elections."[56] In Preussentum und Sozialismus Spengler prescribed war as a necessity, saying "War is the eternal form of higher human existence and states exist for war: they are the expression of the will to war."[57] Spengler's conception of socialism and a number of his political views were shared by the Nazis as well as the Conservative Revolutionary movement.[53]
"Unfortunately, like so many Tea Baggers who like to toss the word socialism and communism around like rice at a wedding, they have no clue about the historical contexts of the words they're using. Can it get any dumber than this?
The truth is that Adolf Hitler, the head of the National Socialist German Workers Party, despised everything that remotely resembled Marxism, socialism, communism and liberalism (even democracy). It's a known fact that Hitler actually regretted having used the word 'socialist' in the party name. Furthermore, when he came into power in the 30s, he quickly destroyed both the German Communist Party and the “true” socialist party at the time, the Social Democratic Party. His hatred towards these political systems was clearly documented in Mein Kampf."
You need some new material ... This tired ol' crap ain't working....
Topic is about People, not that bush/barry are hitler but the similarities of how people will vote a used car salesman into office on the promise of little.
People are sheep and easily led by a person that isn't qualified to be a leader.
That is what happened for the Third Reich, Change and Hope.
Hitler still ran as a socialist and took over a socialist party. Just like Obama ran as a "progressive" but managed to extend the Bush tax cuts, keep us in two "illegal" wars and is attacking Libya without congressional approval.
Starting a war without congressional approval? He does sound a little like Hitler after all. And Hitler did speed? Like Obama did MJ and cocaine according to his own words.

No, Hitler was NOT a "Socialist"... I could create a party with the word "Republican" in it, and run on it... That doesn't mean I'm a Republican...
(And John Quincy Adams was NOT a "founding father"...) But, hey, if you guys repeat it enough, after awhile YOU believe it!... (Nobody else does, but YOU do...)
You grow tiresome...again... Have fun, Sparky... You get more crazy with every passing day....
If Hitler hated socialism so much, why didn't he create a new name for his party? He was dictator after all. Mussolini was willing to call his group Fascists.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Fascism didn't exist before Mussolini, so why would he be shy about the term? The meaning and connotations of words evolve and change throught history and cultures.
And Hitler's Germany before WWII was much more socialist than FDR's New Deal, so although Hitler supposedly hated socialism, he wasn't shutting down the programs.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Hitler ran on a platform of militant nationalism. The socialism he advocated was only for the Aryans. Je played on the desire of a discouraged and despairing populace to blame someone other than themselves for their misery.
