IMHO they're ALL crazy - dems and repubs alike. Not one of them worth their weight in dried, dessicated cow manure. What we need are folks willing to participate in civil discourse and compromise for the overall good. What we have are a bunch of wild-eyed idealogues who'll destroy the nation rather than potentially offend one party-line voter.

It's harmful when being a Democrat or a Republican bexomes more important to us than being Americans. Together.

Yes
compromise.

Well - we've had the last 20 years of compromise, and that's where we find ourselves now- all compromised out.

14 trillion dollars worth of compromise- see how compromise works?

Oh- and they (democrats) want another 2.5 trillion dollars worth of compromise.

That'll be 16.5 trillion of compromise. Nice.

You have got to be kidding

Why do you think people refer to the Republicans as the party of "No"?

They not only haven't shown any ability to compromise in years, maybe decades, they seem proud of their childish obstructionist tactics.

We've lost track of the entire premise of our nation-that we meet in the middle and work together taking the best from each. Now we behave like rival gangs, hating and destroying.

Seriously?? For real? Bush was as close to being a democrat as any republican for the last 60 years. All he did was compromise.

Unfortunately- this country has been compromised. I honestly don't see any real purpose in extending the credit card any longer- it's time to face the fact that we are bankrupt, and like greece- it's time to pay the piper. Actually- we are way worse off then bankrupt, we owe 14 trillion dollars that we can't even begin to pay off.

Actually - it's worse than that too- in a few years - just the interest on that debt will consume all of the taxes the government collects.

Yes- we've been compromised al right.

Care to point out examples of that? His huge amount of compromising, I mean. Some examples from the Republican contingency in Congress would be welcome, too.

After boosting the market yesterday by hinting at a third round of quantitative easing (QE3), Bernanke backed off today. In his second day of testimony, Bernanke told the Senate Banking Committee, "We're not prepared at this point to take further action."

He also warned Congress about aggressive budget cuts, which Bernanke said could hamper the recovery even further…

"I only ask… as Congress looks at the timing and composition of its changes to the budget, that it does take into account that in the very near term the recovery is still rather fragile, and that sharp and excessive cuts in the very short term would be potentially damaging to that recovery."

Perhaps Bernanke was spooked by yesterday's big rally – especially the rally in gold and gold stocks. Now, he's reining it in.

Bush was no democrat...he was just stupid. Tax cuts to rid our country of a surplus? Yeah, that was stupid. Two wars...one possibly justified, the other based on a figment of his imagination....and no plans made for how to pay for them or end them. A Rx plan that had no visible means of support.

If we had actually had a Democrat in office those 8 years this country would be in a lot better shape economically..and you can take that to the bank!
