You have a false sense of reality. What evidence do you have to support such a claim? Did you hear it from Rachel Madcow?

Instead of business as usual, the tea party wants to give is a return to the two class system in this country. Sure they want spending cuts.....but not on anything that will effect their wealthy donors or big corporations....no, they want the poor and the middle class and the seniors to bear all the burden for getting our fiscal house in order. I call bulls**t on that idea.....EVERYONE needs to sacrifice in this country. The Tea Party is mixing poison into their tea and you conservatives are drinking it down.
Enjoy while you can, because if they do take the helm of this country there won't be a USA as we know it in 10 years. We will look like any other run of the mill 3rd world country with a ruling class and the poor. The pictures of starving citizens on TV will not be from Africa, they will be from Detroit, or Burmingham, or Denver. And no.....I don't think I am exaggerating.

cutting back on medicaid benefits doesn't effect the poor? who knew????? The poor aren't just those who have no work, we have working poor, living below the poverty line who cannot afford to lose any more ground in this country. I've heard tea party members call for removal of the minimum wage......you don't think that will effect the working poor?conifermtman wrote:

Keep on piling it on higher and deeper. No one expects poor people to finance our way out of the debt crisis. That is a silly notion that libs like you believe in. It's silly because the definition of poor means they lack wealth in the first place.
However, that does not mean that this country can afford huge wealth transfers in the form of social programs. Clearly we can't when forty cents of every dollar needs to be borrowed. The rich in this country already make up for most of the tax receipts in this country. Even if you tax them at 50 or 90% of their income it would not make up for the shortfall in spending. What is wrong with people like you when you think its OK to expand the government beyond 20% of GDP and not pay for it? You could not run your own household this way, you would be bankrupt.

Wily Fox aka Angela wrote: I felt sorry for Boehner the day after the 2010 elections. I think he truly wants to find middle ground to get things done, but half of his caucus had the approach of "my way or the highway". The country will soon tire of this and kick them out to get things moving again. The Tea Party is ruining their opportunity to be PART of the solution, instead they are blocking any forward movement but only digging in and refusing to work with anyone. Boehner is not in an enviable position.

I could not get my own household out of debt if I was only willing to cut spending and not increase revenue. And no.....cutting taxes does not increase revenue no matter how many times the GOP tells you it does. They are WRONG!
Please show where I ever, ever said that raising tax rates on the rich would get us out of this mess.......it is just one of many tools we need to use to really address the economic problems of this country. But God forbid we should ever touch a conservative's sacred cow.....you all have spent so much time in bed with the wealthy and big corporations you have bed sores.
