The Democrat, Dave Hansen, has won his recall election against the GOP challengers...

SIX Republicans come up for recall elections in a few weeks... All the Dems need is to win THREE, and they stop Scott Walker dead in his tracks... Walker's recall comes up in January... I hope he hasn't spent too much on new drapes for the mansion...

Democratic State Sen. Dave Hansen Wins First Wisconsin Recall Election

WASHINGTON -- Wisconsin state Sen. Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay) handily won Tuesday's recall election, giving Democrats a victory in the first of nine contests being held this summer.

With 65 percent of the vote in, the Associated Press called the race for Hansen, who had more than double the votes of his Republican challenger, David VanderLeest.

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee quickly put out a statement declaring the race a referendum on Gov. Scott Walker's (R) agenda.

“Sen. Hansen’s victory is a validation of the lengths he and the rest of the ‘Wisconsin 14’ went to in their efforts to stall the Wisconsin GOP’s extreme right-wing, anti-working family agenda,” said DLCC Executive Director Michael Sargeant. “His constituents understand that he fights for them, not for extreme ideologues."

Former Democratic Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold also tweeted, "Congratulations to WI Senator Hansen on his victory. We are one step closer to stopping Gov. Walker's agenda. Forward."

Walker and his zombies are toast....

Wow...There were two Republican primaries...and they ran REAL Republicans against each other... I guess they couldn't figure out a way to cheat against themselves....

OK, I still have never seen an answer on here. How is it that they can have recall votes for people that they just don't agree with? Can they do this in any state at any time and can we do it with Obama?

There are different laws in different states covering this, but yeah.....you can force a recall of one sort or another in most states. It's how we keep our representatives accountable to "we the people". You don't remember the recall of the Governor in California? A president?....him you have to impeach I believe.....good luck with that.

Hopefully Hanson had to spend big bucks to keep his seat.

Apparently, not as much as the GOP challengers did...

The teabaggers are going down... And I hope Walker has a plan about what he'd like to do when he's thrown out of office.

We will see. As the Dems in Wisconsin found out, recalls usually lose. Who will be more motivated, the overpaid state employees or the overtaxed residents?
