What is it?

Good question, but it does work well to herd sheep.

It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy

Then you have been under a rock for the last 3 years. You could show that symbol to a clas or 5th graders and I will bet that 80% of them know who it stands for.

I finally found it online. Guess it doesn't work all that great as a "trademark", does it? Although I don't watch political ads or pay much attention to bumper stickers. And just to test your theory, I showed it to my sixth grader and my eighth grader. The sixth grader shrugged and the eighth grader said he thought it might a symbol for the Navy.

Just out of curiousity, do they show this symbol all the time on Fox News?

Where's "everywhere"? I'm just wondering where you guys are seeing it since you seem to think it's such a well known symbol, obviously it's someplace I do not frequent.
