CME Group calls tax situation 'untenable;' says it may exit state

CME Group Inc. is evaluating whether to move some operations to other states from Chicago to reduce its taxes, but it has not decided on an exact timeline, CEO Craig Donohue said Thursday.

"Our tax situation is untenable," Donohue told Reuters, noting that CME is taxed more heavily than any of its global competitors. The company is talking with at least three states -- Texas, Florida and Tennessee -- about relocating some of its business to take advantage of lower tax rates there, Donohue said.

CME has been based in Chicago since the founding of its oldest market, the Chicago Board of Trade, in 1848.

"I don't think CME group is different from other companies" that relocate to more "hospitable" business environments, he said.

.......like Republican run states!

So can anyone explain to me why states keep voting in high taxing, business unfriendly Liberals to run their states and then want to move their businesses to other lower taxing, lower regulation, more business friendly States Like Tenn, Florida, or Rick Perry's Texas? It has been proven all over thie country which party is more business friendly and creates more jobs and which states run by Liberals are driving businesses and jobs away and are deep in red as a state. So why do people who want jobs and businesses to COME to their state rather than chasing them away, keep voting in Liberals to run it? They are getting what they voted for and deserve I guess. Another company with thousands of jobs for Florida or Texas!

Look at this map and see where the population and the electoral votes shifted. 12 electoral votes moved states and 10 of the 12 came from states that Obama won and 11 went to states that Bush won. McCain wasn't a real candidate. This next election, the Republican will have at least 9 extra electoral votes in red states and 11 if we can take Florida back which happens more than not. And Obama will have 10 less to start. So now Obama is already down about 20 electoral votes from where he was last election and has to win an extra state just to make up for that those. Keep running the people out of those liberal states! in 2020 the Red states should gain another 20 or so! Pretty soon Texas will be close to California in electoral votes! They were only 3 ahead of New York last election, 34-31 now they have 9 more electoral votes 38-29. That pretty much wipes out Colorado now!

And here is the OLD electoral map and which ones Obama and McCain won.

Now go back to the 2004 and 2000 electoral maps which will be pretty much what this election will look like and the States that Bush won gained 12 but lost 2 for a net gain of 10 and the states that Both Gore and Kerry won lost 10. So Bush would have beaten them both by 20 more electoral votes. So Obama has to figure out how to gain 24 more electoral votes. And if the Republican Candidate is smart he will pick Rublio or West from Florida for the VP. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Jersey and New Hampshire go red this election. Could be a blow out!

Always love looking at this map of 2004 just to see how compartmentalized the Democrats really are.

Even in 2008 most of the nation was red but a few small areas dictate who gets to run the rest of the country.

True, but it just gave me a lot more excitement for this election looking at the maps and seeing the Republicans gained about 20 electoral votes for the next election because of the population shift.
